Department of Nursing

Up to three qualifications (but primarily the nursing license) can be obtained in four years.

The Department of Nursing offers multiple qualification programs that open the door to an enriching life and the infinite possibilities of the medical profession. 
Each student can obtain multiple qualifications, including the nursing license, public health nurse license, and midwife license. 

Our extensive resources allow Yamato University to offer even a nursing teacher’s license program.

Nurse

A nursing position involved in the management of public health at government offices, private companies (industries), schools, hospitals, etc. 
Primarily engaged in the prevention of disease and the promotion of health

Midwife

[Playing a role in maternity and reproduction] 

Provide comprehensive care for the mother and child from pregnancy to childbirth and post-natal care. 

Department of General Rehabilitation

Courses are offered for three areas, nurturing therapists in the three categories most in demand today. 

The Department of Nursing offers multiple qualification programs that open the door to an enriching life and the infinite possibilities of the medical profession. 
Each student can obtain multiple qualifications, including the nursing license, public health nurse license and midwife license. 

Up to three qualifications can be obtained in four years. 

Students can obtain not only the qualifications offered by the respective courses but also qualifications for certified clinical psychotherapist and music therapist (Class 2).

Our three-tier approach to team-based medicine 

Experience team-based medicine and develop the skills needed to enhance the quality of medicine.

Physical Therapist

Help restore basic physical functions, such as "sit down," "stand up" and "walk," through exercise therapy and physical therapy. 

Occupational Therapist

Help restore functions needed to conduct daily life, such as cooking, eating and making handcraft/fancywork, through training in basic daily tasks. 

Speech-language-hearing Therapist

Help restore functions related to communication and eating, such as "speak," "listen" and "swallow," through special guidance and training.

Our faculty members, with their experience in the real world of medicine, provide comprehensive guidance toward national examinations.

Nishiyamato Gakuen has a proven record of successfully preparing students for examinations. 
Drawing on the resources and expertise of Nishiyamato Gakuen, the university will aim for a 100% success rate at national examinations through personal, detailed guidance of our faculty members who know everything about the real world of medicine. 
Each lecture is accompanied by a check test to confirm mastery of the required knowledge, while each student's progress is constantly monitored and small seminar classes are offered to those in need of private assistance.

The development of certain skills requires a professional environment. 
We partner with about 200 medical institutions in the greater Kansai region to offer practical training in touch with advanced medicine. 

Building an extensive experience through practical training is also important for developing knowledge and techniques into practical abilities. 
The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences partners with leading medical institutions in the greater Kansai region, which are known for practice of cutting-edge medicine, in order to prepare students for the ever-evolving world of medicine.
Developing practical skills in the real world of medicine 
Students receive advanced practical training at about 200 medical institutions in the greater Kansai region. 
We will expand our network of training partners so that all of our students can commute to their host institutions directly from home.

Learning the latest . . . knowing which way to go
We offer our students an opportunity to learn in the U.S.--a country known for advanced medical care--to help them map their career goals in a global context. 

Our goal is to nurture medical professionals who can work in the global arena of medical care, such as nursing and rehabilitation, in Japan and abroad. 
Our unique programs, offered in coordination with Nishiyamato Academy of California, give our students an avenue for study at healthcare vocational colleges in the U.S., a country known for advanced medical care. 

Overseas training

We will offer tours and lectures of/at local hospitals and medical facilities, as well as cross-cultural training programs involving interchange with local students and home stay, in coordination with Nishiyamato Academy of California.

Overseas study programs

We will offer one- to two-year study programs in which to acquire special knowledge/skills while improving language fluency in coordination with healthcare vocational colleges/universities in the U.S.
